DD11 publishes its editorial standards so that clients, subjects and readers may hold the practice to them. These standards are applied uniformly across every engagement.
Not every source counts equally.
- 01Tier 1 — Independent, established secondary sources
Peer-reviewed publications, national and regional broadsheet journalism, published books from established houses, court records and official gazettes.
- 02Tier 2 — Reputable trade & specialist coverage
Industry-recognised trade publications, established magazines of record, museum and university catalogues.
- 03Tier 3 — Primary sources (contextual use only)
Interviews, correspondence, personal papers and organisational documents. Used to corroborate, never to establish notability.
- 04Excluded — Self-published & promotional
Press releases, sponsored content, personal blogs, unattributed material, and any source under editorial control of the subject.
Every substantive claim, independently anchored.
Contested or reputationally significant claims require corroboration in at least two independent sources.
Every citation must point to a source a reader can locate and inspect.
Dates, positions and affiliations are verified against dated primary or secondary records.
Superlatives and honorifics are avoided unless directly quoted and cited.
How DD11 handles error, clarification and retraction.
DD11 corrects material errors of fact promptly and openly. Requests may be submitted by subjects, their authorised representatives, or third parties. Each request is evaluated on the sourced record, not on preference.
Corrections that involve substantive changes are annotated in the file's revision history, retained for the duration of the engagement.
Disclosure and independence.
- DD11 does not accept engagements where editorial independence would be materially compromised.
- Where a subject has a commercial, familial or institutional relationship with the researcher assigned, the file is reassigned.
- DD11 does not accept fees contingent on outcomes (publication, ranking or third-party endorsement).
- DD11 does not engage in paid Wikipedia editing.
